Tomorrow the World - Update

Recently, the TTW team hosted a little get together of our friends and colleagues. If you didn’t hear about it until just now don’t take offense; we are highly selective of the sort of people we call our friends. Anyhow, it came to our attention that a general update of the state of several of our ongoing projects may be in order.

Matches is nearing completion. Bryce has received locked picture as well as the score and both are now in the capable hands of his sound editor Mike Ciacco. Delivery of the film with sound is forthcoming in the next week.

The Paranormalists is presently undergoing picture edit and we hope to lock very soon. Music is being composed for the short (as noted below) and we are awaiting delivery on the “Making Of Featurette.”

It is our hope to roll out both films at a gala event (you know, chips, soda, the works) date to be determined.

Paranormalists - Key Art

I hope to be able to post some artwork put together for the short by friend/artist Liz Martinez-Nelson. Liz was good enough to apply her great talents to creating a really cool painting for us featuring our two favorite ghost hunters. We are lucky to have her helping us out with this project. In addition to Liz's one sheet, there is a distinct possibility that we'll have another pair of options for posters...a true embarrassment of riches...hopefully that's it on the embarrassment front for now. As soon as the art is done, we'll throw it up. On the site.

Paranormalists Post Update

Greetings & salutations...

Post production continues on the Paranormalists. Right now, we are waiting for a new cut of the picture from editor Kyle Stewart. Despite being a superstitious guy in the best of circumstances, I have a very good feeling that we are nearing the end of the picture edit process. Kyle has done some amazing things so far and I can't wait to see the next assemblage.

Brian Giovanni, composer extraordinary, recently delivered the score for Matches and tells me that he is hard at work on the music for the Paranormalists. So far I've heard a "main theme" and the first draft of a theme for Chance and Ben and I've been impressed. Beyond music, my thoughts have been drifting to the sound effects we're going to need. Watching the footage time after time has only pounded home the importance of solid sound work to achieving the overall feeling we want for the finished film. I suppose that goes without saying, but it's very hard not to take for granted how important sound is to the tone and tenor of a film. In our case, the sound will hopefully make the house come to life, it will create an entity for the other actors to react to, to be afraid of, to curse and to...well you get the idea.

I understand that my revelations about sound and sound design are anything but; But as I sit here writing the post I'm taken with the sheer amount of space we have to fill and thought what better way to fill it then to harp about things that we all should know? More updates from my end as soon as they come in...

A Home Away From Home

In an effort to avoid a lapse in our posting while we try to make magic over at tommorrowtheworld.net we've set up this blogger page. When I put it that way I make it sound like we were updating every day...oh you may laugh at the idea now, but you heard it hear first folks: I'm going to try. That's right. I'm going to attempt posting to this site at least once a day. You heard correctly: AT LEAST. Ready to be amazed? I know I am.

For now I'm going to focus on importing the production blog from TTW.net as well as expanding our updates to include post production and *gasp!* distribution. Exciting, no? I thought so, but I'm easily impressed.
